Secure Custody Division

Security Holdings

Some consignments are not simply cargo. Bullion, certificated documents, fine art and sealed commercial records need somewhere to rest between one leg of a journey and the next — under guard, under insurance, and under an unbroken record of who touched them.

Vaulted custody, held to account

A holding with DepRoute is a formal arrangement, not shelf space. Every deposit is surveyed, sealed, allocated and recorded before it is accepted, and every movement afterwards is written down.

  • Segregated vault storage Client holdings sit in individually allocated compartments and are never commingled. Each compartment is assigned to a single client account and sealed under tamper-evident control, so what is deposited is the identical item later released.
  • Documented chain of custody Deposit, internal transfer, inspection and release are each logged against the holding reference with a timestamp and the names of the releasing and receiving officers. That record stays open to you for the full term of the holding.
  • Insured to declared value Holdings are covered to their declared and verified value for the entire period in our custody, including the transit legs immediately before deposit and after release.

What we hold and protect

Six categories of holding, each with its own storage conditions, handling rules and release authority.

High-Value Goods

Bullion, precious metals, gemstones and luxury goods held in access-controlled vaults with continuous monitoring, dual-key release and independent periodic audit against the holding register.

Documents & Instruments

Bearer instruments, title deeds, certificates of origin and sealed commercial records kept in fire-rated storage, retrievable only against written instruction from named signatories.

Bonded Holding

Goods awaiting customs clearance, duty settlement or onward consignment held in bonded conditions, with paperwork prepared in advance so release happens the moment clearance is granted.

Fine Art & Collections

Climate-stable storage for artwork, antiquities and sensitive instruments, with condition reporting on both deposit and release and handling by trained specialists throughout.

Verified Release

Nothing leaves a vault without identity verification, a matching release authority and a countersigned handover. Standing instructions can be lodged in advance for time-critical collections.

Dedicated Account Contact

Corporate holdings are assigned a named account contact who handles deposits, releases and reporting, so instructions never pass through a general queue.

24/7 Monitored vault access
2-key Release authority on every compartment
100% Insured to declared value
Audit-ready Written chain of custody

How a holding works

Four stages, from first survey through to authorised release.

01

Survey & Declaration

We inspect the consignment with you, agree a declared value and record its condition. Storage conditions and the term of the holding are set out in writing before anything is accepted.

02

Sealed Deposit

The consignment is sealed in your presence, assigned a holding reference and placed in its allocated compartment. You receive a signed deposit receipt quoting that reference.

03

Custody & Reporting

The holding sits under continuous monitoring for its agreed term. Statements are issued on the schedule you choose and the register is open to your audit at reasonable notice.

04

Authorised Release

On instruction from a named signatory the seal is checked, condition re-recorded and the consignment released — to you directly, or onto its next leg under our own carriage.

Discuss a corporate holding

Terms, declared values and storage conditions are arranged case by case. If an asset is already moving with us, you can follow its transit legs using your consignment reference.
